A Nasty Bug

I have had this bug for a little while, my partner suffered with it for a week before I started developing symptoms. The coughing, the goo, the exhaustion, a bummer. The worst part of it has been that these have been some of the prettiest blue sky days and I have hardly been able to notice them! So, take care, beware, it lurks where you least expect, you think you’re safe, then, blamo!

The Darkness and the Light

Ohh, when that darkness comes so early to the day and stays until after breakfast life slows down. In front of the fireplace in a cozy little cottage we keep our spirits bright. We take the time to work at those slow indulgent winter projects that summer is just so full of fragrant flowers and singing birds it causes us to flit about like butterflies trying to take it all in. Still, in this grey time the frogs pipe in from their secret places.

2024

Time marches on! My kids are adults, my parents are closing in on a century and we are trying to keep rolling on this road to wherever it leads. Keep a happy thought in the front of your mind is the key to making good things happen! Wishing everyone another happy new year.

Dragin’ On

This will be a year of the dragon. A wood dragon and a blue dragon. As you can see, I got lucky with wood but didn’t do my research well enough to get the colour correct. Still, this gives me another opportunity to create a dragon and I will post it on the appropriate day. Until then these guys are feeling the burn.

What About Golf?

Golf, great socks. I’m not a golfer, I know many who are though. My Dad was roped into a few games of golf when I was a kid. The golf course on the way to our grandparent’s cottage on Lake Simcoe looked like a great place for a game of anything. It’s probably a retirement village now. Maybe now they play Pickleball.

Spring Will Come

Spring has been hanging around here trying to get something started but the weather forecast has predicted a cold snap next week. Not sure how long we will have to wait before spring returns, hopefully she won’t feel unwelcomed by the seasonal about face!

A Holey Wonder

We have a bird here called a Red Headed Sapsucker. A handsome bird and very busy. It pecks holes in our trees in a very meticulous pattern, round and round the trunk and branches. I am always concerned that they are a little too zealous in their pursuit of what? Sap? Bugs? An aesthetic we are not familiar with?

So, I've been busy...

It’s been quite a year.

Most notably an additional new local, youthful dreams finally fulfilled.

Still hoping to revive my illustration career and having fun fooling around making pictures. The busy-ness has obliged me to work quickly on my concepts but I enjoy the immediacy of it all.

Here are a few of my recent images, I got onto a bit of an elephant jag… can you guess the stories they come from?
